Hi I was looking to host my nextjs app on a VM I have setup without docker(vm doesn't support it without paying a lot more).

My basic understanding so far is:
Download Nodejs & npm on the VM

From there I'll be able to build / start no problem but:

I was looking for a little info if anyone had experience setting up Nginx / pm2 / certbot?

I saw these mentioned as good additions but have never used any of them and am a little in the dark about what all on these 3 tools is the most beneficial to set up right away?

Looks like with Nginx you can set up reverse proxy so users can go to a nice domain instead of the server port. Is there anything else I should set up with it besides the reverse proxy?

pm2 can reboot the application if it crashed for any reason but what else should I set up with it?

It's a windows OS on an azure VM if this makes a difference, appreciate any advice before I start stumbling around tomorrow on this!

Hello Clark,

It looks like you’re looking to host your Next.js app on a VM and are exploring tools like Nginx, PM2, and Certbot. I have extensive experience with these technologies and can guide you through the entire setup process.

Nginx is a great choice for reverse proxying and managing SSL, PM2 will ensure your app stays running smoothly, and Certbot will help you set up free SSL certificates. I can assist you with configuring these tools correctly for your environment and help you avoid any common pitfalls.

Let me know if you’d like support setting these up, and I’d be happy to assist you further!

Have to enable virtualization for docker engine to be able to start and only their Ev3 & Dv3 series support that
