I'm trying to make a website portfolio, and so far I'm getting the hang of it, but I can't help but feel that I'm constantly lost. I'm not new to coding (ik basics of C++ and C#), but I haven't worked with Next.js before. I figured out the basics, but concepts like images and videos or page layout are completely out of my depth. Ik it's gonna sound cheap, but I don't want to learn Next.js for 1 project, and was hoping to get some basic general knowledge/ help (basic tutorials are welcome, just not "i try and explain the entire thing in 5 hours")

Any tips/ comments appreciated 🙏✌️

If you're new to web development overall then start with basics: HTML, CSS and JS. Once you get hang of it and built few websites, learn basics on how backend and internet works so you know what you're actually doing. Jumping right to Next.js is big step and bad idea if you don't know basics.

Thats what i was tring to get at. Ik you cant just make a unity game if you know the basics of C++, but i was trying to learn Next without having to go thought HTML and Java and what not. Its for a uni portfolio so I dont need to KNOW it, more just make it yk?

I just read this, well if you’re wanting to use Next.js without actually making use of the benefits of Next.js you’re better off with something like Astro.

It’s like Vanilla HTML with powers lol, it’s a static site so you won’t need much interactivity,

And if you don’t wanna learn anything then just go to Webflow or Framer, use a No-code or low-code tool.. no one will care if it’s written in Next.js unless it’s us hahaha
