@James4u <@561501466624393235> I have experience with Next.js + Strapi What's your issue?

@James4u what would you do if you had to do it without strapi?
So @Double-striped Thick-knee Strapi is just a CMS, right? you grab your content data from strapi to render your pages

yh, I was wondering where and how would you store your data if you wanted to do it in your own CMS?
hmm, If I am not using CMS, data is mostly from our db, right?

thought of that. but is like just a single document in the whole collection?
if it's kind of blogs or articles, CMS should be better than your own db tables

let's say I just want a dynamic heading and description for my website. Is it okay to create a collection just for this much data?
@James4u
now you are saying what I need in order to help you
okay dynamic content you need is heading & description for your website
so by dynamic, who changes the heading & desc? and how frequent?
Mostly heading & description is not much dynamic in websites so they are normally hard-coded I guess

I haven't thought of that cz I was just wondering how strapi stores their things. let's imagine my SEO guy wants a dashboard to change the content of the site frequently.
to give you some idea about Strapi - it's also database to store your data on their end
also they provide UI where you can see & edit & delete your contents
as well as they provide SDK and apis for the integration
well, if you need dashboard/UI to update the content, Strapi will be better - because you obviously don't want to create your own UI etc
adding authentication, authorization and so on
Strapi supports them all
in terms of SEO, from my experience SEO isn't something that gets reflected by frequent content changes - Not sure if you are talking about A/B testing

actually I'm not in need of anything right now other than seeking knowledge. So just want to know about the approach of creating a dashboard from where the content of my website can be changed without relying on third party, (for educational purposes), not an actual site.
okay I see your point now
Go with CMS, it's what you need I promise
Double-striped Thick-knee
there's nothing to learn then 🥲
🤔
@James4u okay I see your point now

lemme ask you something, is it a good idea to store my data inside a mongodb collection with a single document to store my websites data. it should look something like this,
{
  _id: ObjectID,
  heading: string,
  description: string,
  ...otherData,
}

but a collection with a single document seems too much. so what about using redis instead?
I think it's over-killing
Double-striped Thick-knee
that's what I thought.
@James4u I think it's over-killing
Double-striped Thick-knee
so do you have any suggestion other than CMS, (trust me i will use CMS in prod for sure)
other than CMS, you need DB what else do you think you can use it?
@James4u other than CMS, you need DB what else do you think you can use it?
Double-striped Thick-knee
can't think of anything else other than overkilling stuff
by over-killing I just meant redis
MongoDB or any DB should be fine
@James4u MongoDB or any DB should be fine
Double-striped Thick-knee
owh I see.
thanks
yr welcome! I know we are much away from original question but mark solution if anything is appropriate
