I know it's a stupid question but I'm at the beginning and I really want to know. Thank you in advance!
Bdw do you think the vps could fail because of the project? (it's a presentation site in next, something super basic, only nextjs and shadcn)
Sun bear
I think you are good as long as there are not many people visiting
I managed to run express postgres redis next.js and another next in 4GB ram 2vCPU
also I can recommend hetzner for a cheap VPS. I get 4GB ram 2vCPU for $3.5/mo
@Sun bear I think you are good as long as there are not many people visiting
around 100 visitors/day I think
Sun bear
that might be a problem if they are concurrent but idk
test it then rescale if you need
@Sun bear that might be a problem if they are concurrent but idk
That would be a maximum in the worst case, but not at the same time, that's clear from what I've seen.
Sun bear
yes I know, but the problem is if there are like 10 people at the same time browsing
do you host anything else other then next.js?
because if it's an application without database you can host it on vercel for free and it will be performant

I think that the monthly traffic is not enough and I don't want to be charged for every TB of traffic consumed, I prefer a host with unlimited traffic. Maybe I'm wrong, but I don't want to risk paying more for traffic than for vps itself.

it is also very hard to go over the traffic limit unless you are hosting large images or files
Yes, this is also true, but I don't want to risk exceeding that limit. But thanks for the advice.
