Text-Color in tailwind

I know this is probably supper basic, but the class text-slate-400 has no effect on the text. The class is in the list of classes, but it does not change, and color is still inherit. Does anyone know how to fix this?

sometimes you might need to refresh

or could be browser caching

also might be your global styles if you have some important priortiyy using !

i dont have any, and iv tried over a 12 hour period, so it should be fine

figured it out, i overrode colors
