Protecting a form with captcha?

I am building a contact form within a next.js application. I would like to prevent the form from getting abused because I am sending an email after the form was submitted.
I am currently looking at google and cloudflare captcha. Which one of these has better React support, developer UX and UX?
Also are there any other ways to implement such protection without the use of captcha?

Ive used googles captcha api before. Its pretty easy to use.
Just understand that implementing it comes with a cost, our production site many moons ago got hit by a bot spamming captcha's and eventually those also cost money
But its still less than if someone was able to send 100,000 emails
