next-auth with a custom backend for auth

is it possible to use next-auth with a custom nestjs backend? i read about the credentialsprovider, but i dont understand if that would be possible with oauth. (since im doing the oauth process on the nest backend)

and like, what IF i would use the built in oauth providers? there's so much more logic I want to happen when the user logs in/registers, mostly when the user registers, like creating a user for them.
