everytime i save i get this error from prettier and my file doesnt format or anything. prettier is working with a normal react app so im assuming something about nextjs is causing this error

im just using the default setup wtih eslint that nextjs gave me

can you try creating a new profile on vscode and see if it works?
Code > Settings > Profiles > Create Profile
