- i have a gallery of low-quality images,
- on click, a modal containing the hq ver of the selected image appears

how do i make it so that the load time for the hq image is faster?
my original code:
- modal image src is dynamic (next image loads slow)

ideas so far:
- pre-populate modal with hq images, all hidden until selected img matches (not sure w/ the code logic here)
- create modal for each img (might be slow bcs theres so many elements??)
